PRAY FOR PEACE

Are we not both just miserable wretches full of faults and prone towards mistakes? I can only speak for myself, but my life is ridden with sin, since I am not perfect as God. My own lack of patience and anger always gets the best of my better judgment. So, what does one do when their mind, heart, and soul is troubled? I would only hope and pray that both of us would take the time to discern deep within the recesses of our souls.

I ask you, what could ever be nobler than the soul itself in our lives? After all, the supreme goal in life for all people is God, Allah, Yahweh – correct!

We all seek for fulfillment, satisfaction, and love itself. So, if we claim to love our God, we must seek to do love towards all without exceptions. I, myself am a voluntary slave to love and God. I live for the love of God, I die within myself for the love of my Lord, and not out of any pain, force or fear. My faith, as yours can only become perfect through our sincere passions to do God’s will everyday, all day.

As always, while walking through the East Woods natural area in Burlington, Vermont, where the towering pines whisper the sweet sounds of creation, I realized my true unity with love, with God. Here in this preserved and protected 40- acre forest, the world appears to me as paradise on earth. The sounds of the water flowing gently over the rocks of the Potash Brook are as if Angels were gently stroking the embers of fire within my heart and soul. At every curve of the trail new unspoken, quiet beauty appears before my sinful body. I can only see with the eyes and ears of my heart and soul, and as always here, I see all the world radiant, cheerful, and brimming over with the greatest of magnificence. I am filled with the bliss of God’s awesome glory and love for all creation, especially with humans. As the branches of the trees dance and the leaves of the birch and maple clap their hands like a chorus and choir of innocent boys and girls, God shows the love needed for us to make peace upon this planet among all humankind.

I only ask of you, what I too ask of myself, pray this following prayer before taking any immoral steps towards war with Iraq or increasing military aid to Columbia or Israel. Allow the prayer to fill your heart with hope for a real future for a Palestinian nation and a secure border for Israel. Don’t close your mind to becoming true friends and neighbors with the rest of the world, especially now with the Middle East, North Korea, Russia, Cuba and anyone else whom you disagree with. Say the prayer slowly over and over until it reaches the inner depths of your soul, and see the truth of peace, love and unity with all of God’s creation, including all the environment. True peace comes only through non-violent means, not through force, violence and war. End all the immoral insanity today and always, turn towards our God for wisdom and love. Pray for peace!!!

God is the only source of creation and peace, praised be Allah and Yahweh for all of eternity. We must remember that our minds, hearts and souls will only find peace among Your love O, God. Hear this prayer that all wars and violence end.

O, God it is your love that changes our cold and hardened hearts. Muslims, Jews and Christians are followers of You, the One God, all of us children of Abraham. We must learn to love our enemies, who are our brothers and sisters. We must join hands and hearts as all Citizens of this Glorious World and seek a new path towards peace together.

O, God give us the strength and wisdom to live our lives daily in your light of goodness. Allow your love to unite with our soul to become one within your Spirit of love. Give us, O, God a new beginning without poverty, greed, hatred and war and the ability to forgive and be forgiven for the wretched mistakes we all make towards You.
