LEARN TO LOVE
We all deserve to be loved!
The communities where we live will only be sustainable and alive if it provides unconditional love for all, opportunities to laugh with each other, to pray together no matter what our faith/denomination, to sing, dance, and allow creative and free exchanges for personal and collective growth. Everyone in each of our communities needs to experience each other as sources of surprise, joy, wonder and awe.
To truly appreciate and accept all people, one must first break bread together. Having a meal, sharing one’s bounty with some one else is truly loving and caring. The conversation will lead one to understand the other’s perspectives or point of view. The simple, but nourishing meal will refresh your spirit and your heart of love for others. You will see the entity as a human person, alive and full of energy to help change the world for the betterment of the common good.
We are a mutually interdependent human race worldwide. It is time today to fully realize that it is in our own personal self-interest to ensure a world in which everyone is invited equally and fairly to be part of loving, spiritually deep, emotionally satisfying, and materially thriving communities of their own choice. Also, to live in a world in which mutual respect and care are the common sense truths and cornerstones by which we must begin to live.
I pray that we shape a society in which there is time not only to DO and to MAKE, but time also to just BE and to LOVE, time for family and friends, community and world, and most of all spiritual growth from deep within yourself. Reshaping our world to be one of love for all, even our so-called enemies would be a great start. Putting our priorities and values back into our institutions must happen in order for love to grow and flourish for all humans and the environment.
Starting in our families and schools, we must begin tending to foster caring human beings who are ethically, morally and ecologically sensitive, who excel not only in math and science, but especially excel at taking great care of others. We need to develop our children’s inner resources, and capacity to respond to the universe with awe and wonder.
Truly learning to love takes hard, concerted efforts on all our parts, and it is not something that will happen overnight. Learning to love is a life long pursuit worthy of every person to commit all their resources. We must love all, for God loves all! God bless the world today and tomorrow into perpetuity.
