HOLY LAND

Daily, I pray for peace in the sacred Holy Land of three great religions; Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.  As a true follower of the one God, I call to express my deepest concerns for lasting peace in Israel and Palestine.

Continuing to severely restrict the Palestinian people to their villages and cities contributes widely to a cycle of murderous violence and insecurity for all people in the Middle East.  It is very clear that the current immoral Israeli policy will not lead to a negotiated peace.  Its implementation is at a horrendous human cost to both Palestinian and Israeli citizens, who were created both in the image and likeness of their same God.

It is my sincere hope and prayer that President Bush and Congress will urge that the Israeli government show a real concerted determination for a two-state solution to end Israeli’s illegal and immoral occupation of Palestinian land and provide secure borders for the Israeli’s.

It is not a matter of whether the cycle in which Israelis and Palestinians find themselves can be reversed.  For the sake of both peoples, it MUST be reversed!  It is my fervent prayer that President Bush and Prime Minister Sharon will set in motion, in cooperation and consultation with other Arab neighbors, the events that could ultimately allow Israelis and Palestinians to live, work, and prosper together as loving and respectful neighbors.

In the immediate, I faithfully propose a large and peaceful presence of international observers as one necessary means of discouraging further violence between Palestinians and Israelis.  I personally would gladly volunteer my time to be a part of this plan.  In addition, I beg our U.S. leaders, in the White House and Congress to do all in their power to prepare the road for a just, fair and durable peace without the use of the military.  You can only build peace through love, not murderous and violent means of destruction or the silly, outmoded means of deterrence.  Now is the time for peace, so give it a chance for once!

God Bless the World!
